“Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” florbola klubam pievienojās divi spēlētāji no Čehijas

Šonedēļ “Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” klubam pievienojās divi spēlētāji no Čehijas - Tomas Vesely un Jaroslav Váňa. Viņi Latvijā ieradušies Erasmus programmas ietvaros un Latvijas Universitātē nākamo semestri studēs ekonomiku un biznesu. Pateicoties iepriekš uzsāktajai FS Masters sadarbībai ar Čehijas florbola klubiem, šiem spēlētājiem radās iespēja apvienot studijas ar florbola spēlēšanu mūsu klubā. Trešdien, uzreiz pēc ierašanās Rīgā, spēlētāji paspēja aizvadīt vienu treniņu, bet jau piektdien devās laukumā mūsu 1.līgas komandas “Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” sastāvā spēlē pret Talsu komandu. Rīgas derbijs šogad solās būt karstāks nekā parasti

Sestdien, 25. janvārī, sagaidāms Latvijas florbola 1. līgas čempionāta “Rīgas derbijs”. Plst. 14.30 LU/FS Masters savā laukumā, Elektrum Olimpiskajā centrā, cīnīsies pret galvenajiem konkurentiem par pirmo vietu konferencē – RTU/Rockets komandu. Abas komandas ir ļoti labā formā, taču LU/FS Masters noteikti gribēs savu skatītāju priekšā revanšēties par nepatīkamo zaudējumu oktobrī un noturēt pirmo vietu kopvērtējuma tabulā. Spēles starp LU/FS Masters un RTU/Rockets komandām vienmēr bijušas sīvas, ugunīgas un emocijām bagātas. Divas Rīgas komandas, kas mājas spēles aizvada vienā laukumā un pārstāv divas galvaspilsētas lielākas universitātes, vienmēr ir priecējušas skatītājus ar skaistu un rezultatīvu florbolu. LU/FS Masters komanda, kā ierasts laukuma saimniekiem, ļoti atbildīgi pienāk pie Rīgas derbija organizēšanas un vienmēr parūpējas par īpašu atmosfēru. The European Studies Master Programme celebrates its 15th graduation ceremony

On 16 June, the Graduation Ceremony of the “European Studies Masters Programme 2015/2016” (ESMP) at the University of Latvia (UL) was held. In total twenty-one students - mostly from Latvia, but also students from the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden and Turkey – together with their families and friends as well as professors, lecturers, partners, ESMP Alumni participated in the event. The Ceremony that took place in the Great Hall of the UL was opened by Professor Tatjana Muravska , Director of the ESMP, and Professor Janis Ikstens , Vice-Rector of Social and Legal Sciences; Acting Dean at the UL Faculty of Economics and Management. This year’s event was devoted to the 15th graduation anniversary of the ESMP. “Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” florbola komanda pārliecinoši uzvar FK “Ozolnieki/JN”

Darba nedēļas izskaņā, 27.oktobrī, LU pārstāvētā florbola komanda “Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” devās izbraukumā uz Ozolnieku vidusskolu, lai aizvadītu šīs sezonas septīto spēli. Šajā cīņā pretinieki bija FK “Ozolnieki/JN”, kurus veiksmīgi pieveicām ar rezultātu 18:6. Pirmās trešdaļas piektajā minūtē rezultātu atklāja mūsu komandas spēlētājs Maksis Klūga. 13 sekundes vēlāk tikām pie vēl viena vārtu guvuma. Spēles devītajā minūtē pretinieki atklāja savu rezultātu un guva savus primos vārtus spēlē, taču pirmās trešdaļas izskaņā “LU/FS Masters” guva vēl viena punktu, kas pārtraukumā ļāva doties ar rezultātu 3:1. Pēc pārtraukuma turpinājām izrādīt pārākumu pār pretiniekiem un guvām 5 punktus pēc kārtas, kas kopumā deva 7 punktu pārsvaru. Florbola klubs “Ozolnieki/JN” gan nezaudēja cerību par uzvaru un spēles 35. minūtē guva vārtus. Mūsu puiši turpināja izrādīt savu meistarību un otrās trešdaļas izskaņā guva vēl divus vārtus, kas jau deva 8 punktu pārsvaru pār pretiniekiem. Spēles
European Studies Master's Programme students report on EU-Canada Study Tour and Internship Programme 2012 - "Thinking Canada"

European Studies Masters Programme students Aleksandrs Dahs and Javier Jimenez Mendoza took part in EU-Canada Study Tour and Internship Programme 2012 - "Thinking Canada". "Thinking Canada" is an initiative of the European Network for Canadian Studies, funded generously by the European Commission - a four-week study tour to Canada for European students that will take place from 2 – 30 September 2012, followed for selected participants by two-month internships. It will commence with three days of briefings in Brussels on the EU and EU-Canada relations. Estonian Academy of arts (EKA) provides higher education in art, design, architecture, media, art history and conservation-restoration, promoting creativity and research throughthose fields. Project: Foresight Centre of the Estonian Parliament has collaborated with the Estonian Academyof Arts for the second timefor a three weeks-long Speculative Design course. Students from Product Design BA and Interaction Design MA curriculums worked together in teams to speculate on the future of retirementin 2050. Lecturer: Nesli Hazal Akbulut, is an interaction designer and an educator based in Tallinn. She has obtained her Master's Degree from EKA's International Interaction Design Masters program where she currently works as a lecturer and a curriculum developer.
Informative seminar on the EIB Summer School 2023

For the second year already, the European Investment Bank (EIB) invites UL master's students to apply for a free summer school in Luxembourg, during which students will be introduced to the EIB's operating principles, the banking and financial system in Europe and information about the European Green Deal. This year, the summer school will take place from June 27 to July 7. Masters students from all fields interested in sustainability, climate change and the environment, as well as students with background in engineering and natural sciences, are invited to apply to the EIB Summer School. We invite all interested parties to an informative seminar on March 7, where representatives of the EIB summer school will inform about the summer school in more detail and answer any questions. The seminar will take place at 11.00 in the Omega auditorium of the House of Science, but there will also be the opportunity to join the seminar remotely in MsTeams. We are happy to welcome back in the classes an alumni of European Studies Masters Programme, this time as a lecturer - Mr. Andris Kužnieks! He will deliver classes on Regional Policy to our 1st year students of academic year 2015/2016. Mr. Kužnieks graduated from ESMP at the University of Latvia in 2002 (the 1 st graduation of programme). Currently, as of 2012, he is a Deputy Head of the European Commission Permanent Representation in Latvia. Mr. Kužnieks has an extensive experience working as a Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Development and Local Governments of Latvia and the Ministry of Economics of Latvia. Besides, he was a Project Manager for several EU-level projects. Proud of our Alumni!

The University of Latvia’s Centre for European and Transition Studies (CETS) offers internships to university students (Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral) and recent graduates eager to gain working knowledge of the European Union and its external relations. In order to apply for an internship at CETS, you must fulfill the criteria outlined below: Educational Status : applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Students pursuing higher education such as a Masters or Doctoral studies would be an asset; Educational Focus : applicants must be enrolled or have completed degrees in the following disciplines: International Relations, European Studies, Law, Media or Political Science. European Studies includes: EU law, politics, economics, and/or external relations: Languages : applicants must be thoroughly proficient in English. Having knowledge of other languages such as: French, Latvian, and/or Russian (or other languages) would be an asset.
