Drawing as a Research Method in the Process of Art History Studies [PDF] Austra Avotina University of Latvia, Latvia Abstract: Drawing as a research method in the process of art history studies can help to expand and deepen knowledge about several components of the art content: the form, material, structure, technology, individual means, contextual meaning and place. Hand drawing stimulates the imagination, enhances wellbeing, sharpens the mind and trains the hand. It improves visual literacy and increases visual competence. This method acts as a source of discoveries and additional evidence of exclusive values. 06.02.2022. 22.39 Ziņa
The Commission adopted an EU Standardisation Strategy outlining the vision for standards within the Single Market and globally. The Joint Research Centre (JRC) contributed to a more effective translation of research and innovation into standardisation and provided input on foresight, pre-normative research and on bringing independent, scientific and technical knowledge for drafting state-of-the-art standards with a European dimension. JRC will continue its collaboration with CEN and CENELEC by bringing its expertise closer to the standards drafting process. It will actively participate in the Putting Science into Standards Workshops, mapping existing and missing standardisation efforts to assess and recommend actions needed to start the process of drafting new, or complementing existing standards. We are launching a research project "Ethnographer, Society, and Art: Symbiosis of Ethnology and Art and Discourse of the Soviet Colonialism in Latvia" (lzp-2023/1-052), in which for the first time since the restoration of independence, a scientific evaluation of the field of ethnology during the period of the Soviet occupation will be provided. We are also focusing on increasing the public understanding of the influence of the Soviet colonial policy on the system of creating and controlling knowledge, as well as the role of ethnography and art in uniting society and creating a common identity. We want to encourage research of the listed topics in Latvia and look at it in a wider interdisciplinary context. To outline the framework of the researched topic, we invite researchers and students of humanities and social sciences whose interests include the history of the branches of science related to the ethnography, daily life, or artistic developments during the Soviet occupation
