A representative team from the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology participated in 3rd Congress of Baltic Microbiologists (CBM2016) taking place at the Life Sciences Center, Vilnius university in Lithuania 18.-21. October 2016. Institute team refreshed old contacts and found new ones as well as delivered six talks during the conference.The first Congress of Baltic Microbiologists took place in Riga, Latvia (2012) and the second one was held in Tartu, Estonia (2014).

Director of the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy, University of Latvia, Inga Šīrante participated in the conference "Liaocheng Foreign Experts Conference", China (November 13 - November 15), which was attended by experts from various fields, high-level professionals and young talents beneficial solutions for the development of the sectors represented. During the event Inga Šīrante presented the research directions of IAPS UL and their achievements, as well as the University of Latvia and Latvia, as well as made contacts with Chinese entrepreneurs during the networking event.

The purpose of the International Young Scientist Conference “Development in Optics and Communications 2013” is to bring together students and young scientists working experimentally and theoretically in the fields of optics and photonics to share and exchange new ideas and to establish contacts for future collaboration. Food Science Lab Alliance level kick-off in Dijon 12th – 14th January 2020: 3 days meeting hosted by the Alliance Level Contacts Persons in Dijon. August 26, 2016 Memorandum of Cooperation got signed between the University of Latvia (represented by Professor Valdis Segliņš) and a NGO from Kazakhstan «Central Asian Cancer Institute» (represented by the chairman Nurbek Igissinov). The fields of collaboration of the Memorandum included the following: development of international contacts between Kazakhstan and Latvia, cooperation in research, including for the GISTAR project, collaborative development of innovation projects as well as facilitation of collaborative publications. This is expected that the Memorandum is going to facilitate the collaboration between the University of Latvia and Universities and research organizations in Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries.
