On June 16th, 2011 the European Studies Master Programme held its annual Graduation Ceremony. As tradition indicates it took place in the Great Hall at the University of Latvia. In total nineteen students graduated with all academic distinctions. Among the recent graduates were students not only from Latvia, but also from Azerbaijan, and the Netherlands. Throughout the graduates’ two-year programme students placed emphasis on deepening their knowledge of European Studies within the dimensions of economics, law, political science/public administration with components from history, international relations, regional science and other relevant disciplines. During their studies, European Studies students had the opportunity to participate in a practical seminar in Brussels and Luxembourg.The visit to key EU institutions and NATO headquarters allowed students to meet representatives of each institution and participated in discussions on current topics relating to EU policy. The scientific institute Baltic Studies Centre (BSC) in cooperation with BA School of Business and Finance (BASBF) and the masters programme in sociology of the University of Latvia (UL), invites the master and doctoral students to the autumn school-hackathon “Collaboration for smart and sustainable territorial development”. By participating in the school-hackathon, students will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about smart and sustainable development at the territorial level, and the role of cooperation in the development and implementation of sustainable innovation. Trešdienas, 18. oktobra, vakarā, Rimi Olimpiskajā centrā, norisinājās divu universitāšu derbijs florbolā. RTU/Rockets-1 uzņēma Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters komandu. Pirms šīs spēles komandas čempionāta tabulā atradās pretējos polos – LU komanda turas līderu pulkā, savukārt RTU līdz šim nebija pie punktiem tikusi. Neskatoties uz to, spēle tika gaidīta principiāla.Lai arī zili-baltie dominēja bumbas kontrolē un izpildīja trīs reizes vairāk metienu pa vārtiem, rezultāts turējās līdzīgs līdz pat spēles pamatlaika beigām.  Rezultātu spēles piektajā minūē atklāja LU komandas spēlētājs Kārlis Spilbergs, kurš guva vārtus pēc Gustava Marka Zarņa piespēles, izvirzot LU komandu minimālā vadībā. Šo pārsvaru spēles astotajā minūtē dubultoja Roberts Trofimenko, bet jau pēc 20 sekundēm RTU komandas spēlētājs Rūdolfs Dilbergs guva 1 vārtus RTU labā. My name is Charly Anoume, and I’m from Cameroon. I’m a student at the University of Latvia, in the first year of my master's degree - specialization in Romance languages and culture (French module). I chose to come here to study for many reasons, mainly to get my degree from one of the best universities in Eastern Europe. Since I started my studies at the Faculty of Humanities, I have been deeply impressed by the quality of the courses taught across a variety of languages and in a multicultural environment that could be of real benefit to international students looking for a place to enhance the perspective of diversity through human connections. 11.februārī mūsu florbola komanda "LU/FS Masters" aizvadīja 1.līgas spēli pret "Leģions/Grobiņas SC". Pirmajā periodā mūsējie jau trešajā minūtē atklāja spēles rezultātu. Pēc tam sekoja vēl divi vārtu guvumi, bet pretinieki 50 sekundes pirms pirmā perioda beigām arī tomēr guva savus pirmos vārtus. Pirmais periods noslēdzās ar rezultātu 3:1. Arī otrajā periodā mūsējie turpināja gūt vārtus, savukārt pretiniekiem otrajā periodā izdevās gūt tikai vienus vārtus. Otrais periods noslēdzās ar rezultātu 6:2. Noslēdzošā perioda sākumā pretinieki sasparojās un guva 2 vārtus pēc kārtas, samazinot rezultāta starpību līdz 2 punktiem, bet īsi pēc tam LU atbildēja ar 2 gūtiem vārtiem un spēle noslēdzās ar uzvaru 8:4. Labākais spēlētājs "LU/FS Masters" rindās - Uldis Maskavs.

18.februārī mūsu florbola komanda "LU/FS Masters" saspringtā spēlē piekāpās "Ķekavas Bulldogs" ar rezultātu 7:8. Pirmajā periodā mūsējie jau otrajā minūtē atklāja spēles rezultātu. Pēc tam sekoja vēl viens vārtu guvums un atradāmies 2 punktu vadībā, taču pretinieki nesnauda un arī guva divus vārtus. Pēc izlīdzinātā rezultāta mūsējiem izdevās gūt vēl divus vārtus, kāmēr pretinieki bija precīzi tikai vienu reizi. Pirmais periods noslēdzās ar rezultātu 4:3 mūsu labā. Otrajā periodā pašā sākumā mājinieki spēja izlīdzināt rezultātu uz 4:4. Otrā perioda pirmajā pusē mūsējiem atkal izdevās gūt 2 vārtus pēc kārtas, 2 periods noslēdzās ar rezultātu 6:4. Noslēdzošā perioda sākumā mājiniekiem ar diviem vārtu guvumiem izdevās izlīdzināt rezultātu uz 6:6. Septiņas minūtes pirms spēles beigām Ralfs Edvards Grīnvalds ar precīzu metienu izvirzīja LU komandu vadībā. 3 minūtes pirms spēles beigām pretinieki izmantoja soda metienu, lai realizētu neizšķirtu un diemžel 11 sekundes pirms spēles beigu

TRIZ Master Isak Bukhman visited UL NSP FOTONIKA-LV, held seminar on Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) and Technology for Innovation. Work sessions were made to analyze several innovations and to discuss collaboration plan for Horizon Europe Teaming Stage 2 project proposal.
