Svētdien, 16. februārī, tika aizvadīta svarīga spēle, kurā Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters spēja izcīnīt uzvaru pret Ķekavas Bulldogs komandu ar rezultātu 8:7. Tas komandai deva iespēju iegūt svarīgus punktus, kas ļauj vēl pacīnīties par 1. vietu savā grupā. Jau pēc spēlētas 1 minūtes un 19 sekundēm komanda spēja izvirzīties vadībā, kad pēc Bertrama Kalēja piespēles vārtus guva Rolands Līdums, tomēr pēc neilga laika pretinieku komanda spēja rezultātu izlīdzināt. Otros vārtus komandas labā guva Rolands Peļņa pēc Daniela Tvoronoviča piespēles, taču atkal izlīdzinājumu panāca pretinieki. Pēc pirmā perioda gan komandai izdevās doties vadībā, jo spēles 17 minūtē vēl vienus vārtus guva Rolands Peļņa, asistējot Marekam Brutānam. Otrā perioda sākumā divus vārtus guva Ķekavas Bulldogs komanda, taču Latvijas Universitātes florbolisti panāca 4:4. Vārtus guva Mareks Brutāns, bet rezultatīva piespēle Rolandam Peļņam. July 4th, graduates will be proudly posing for photographs on the main steps of the University. The final graduation ceremony, which will take place on July 4th, will be for students graduating from the Faculty of Theology. This will mark the end of the graduation marathon for another year. The first students to receive their diplomas this summer were students of the joint university Masters Programme in Nutrition. This is the second year of graduations from this programme, which is run by the University of Latvia, the Latvia University of Agriculture, and Rigas Stradiņa University.

In 2017 and 2018 the University of Latvia (UL) Centre for Diaspora and Migration Research carried out a survey of Latvia's scientists and researchers. These surveys demonstrated the desire of the Latvian diaspora to collaborate with scientists and researchers in Latvia. However, currently there is no systematic way to facilitate this collaboration. Currently there is work in progress to address this issue and develop networking solutions that would create the foundation for further collaboration opportunities for diaspora scientists and researchers in Latvia; to find out about each other and identify similar research interests. Part of this work is a survey commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia with the aim to gain information that would allow creating a database or a networking platform to support collaboration between the diaspora and researchers in Latvia. The Diaspora and Migration Research Centre, which is conducting this study, invites all

Aizvadītajā nedēļas nogalē, 23. un 24. februārī, florbola komanda “LU/FS Masters” uzsāka Latvijas florbola 1. līgas izslēgšanas spēles, aizvadot 2 spēles pret “Talsu NSS/TX koks”. Aizvadītajā spēlēs mūsu florbolisti izcīnīja divas uzvaras – 7:2 un 7:4. Pirmās dienas spēle aizsākās ar veiksmīgu Kārļa Spilberga (rez. piespēle Maksim Klūgam) vārtu guvumu 16. minūtes izskaņā. Tūlīt pēc tam sekoja arī otrs vārtu guvums Gvido Mieža izpildījumā (rez. piespēle Gustavam Markam Zariņam). Mūsu vārtsargs Henrijs Gustavs Magons bija godam izpildījis savu uzdevumu, neļaujot pretiniekiem gūt nevienus vārtus. 25. minūte vainagojās ar rezultātu 3:0 “LU/FS Masters”, par ko parūpējās Gustavs Marks Zariņš (Rodrigo Rotkājs). Faniem ilgi nebija jāgaida līdz atkal varēs pieskandināt tribīnes. Renārs Liepiņš (Gvido Miezis) precīzi raidīja bumbiņu vārtu virzienā. Otrā perioda izskaņā arī viesi atklāja savu precizitāti, kas noslēdza šo spēles daļu ar rezultātu 4 pret 1 “LU/FS Masters” labā. Spēles

On June 16th, 2011 the European Studies Master Programme held its annual Graduation Ceremony. As tradition indicates it took place in the Great Hall at the University of Latvia. In total nineteen students graduated with all academic distinctions. Among the recent graduates were students not only from Latvia, but also from Azerbaijan, and the Netherlands. Throughout the graduates’ two-year programme students placed emphasis on deepening their knowledge of European Studies within the dimensions of economics, law, political science/public administration with components from history, international relations, regional science and other relevant disciplines. During their studies, European Studies students had the opportunity to participate in a practical seminar in Brussels and Luxembourg.The visit to key EU institutions and NATO headquarters allowed students to meet representatives of each institution and participated in discussions on current topics relating to EU policy. 27.janvārī mūsu florbola komanda "LU/FS Masters" aizvadīja spraigu spēli pret Talsu "NSS/Zerorisk", kurā izcīnīja uzvaru ar 8:5. Pirmajā periodā saglabājās saspringta gaisotne. Perioda desmitajā minūtē Talsu"NSS/Zerorisk" izdevās izvirzīties 2 punktu vadībā ar rezultātu 3:1, taču līdz perioda beigām Kristaps Reidzāns un Maksis Klūga spēja izlīdzināt rezultātu un 1.periods noslēzās ar 3:3.2. periods noritēja sīvā cīņā, bet perioda izskaņā mūsējie ar 2 precīziem metieniem spēja izvirzītes vadībā ar 5:4. Trešajā periodā līdz spēles pēdējai minūtei pretinieki nespēja gūt nevienus vārtus, turpretim, mūsējie guva vēl 3 vārtus. Pēdējā minūtē pretinieku vārtsargs pameta laukumu un laukumā devās sestais spēlētājs. Šādā sastāvā pretiniekiem izdevās gūt vienus vārtus, bet tas bija par maz, lai svinētu uzvaru. Spēle noslēdzās par labu "LU/FS Masters" komandai ar rezultātu 8:5.
