It is the third year when students from the University of Latvia take part in the one month long “Thinking Canada” study tour to Brussels and Canada organised by European Network for Canadian Studies and funded generously by the European Commission. This year there are three students from the University of Latvia participating in the study tour as part of the group of total 32 students representing various European countries and academic backgrounds. Two of these students – Javier Mendoza Jimenez (representing the Kingdom of Spain in the tour) and Aleksandrs Dahs come from the European Studies Master's Programme, while Vladimirs Rojenko is currently studying in Strategic Management and Leadership Masters programme at the Faculty of Economics and Management. Aim of the “Thinking Canada” programme is to promote interest in Canadian studies in Europe and to develop a new generation of educated individuals who are interested in Canada and its relations with EU. Sezona sākusies Latvijas Čempionāta pirmajā līgā, kurā startē “Latvijas Universitāte / FS Masters” komanda. Sezona iesākusies ar trijām uzvarām piecās spēlēs. Čempionātā kopā startē 18 komandas no visas Latvijas, kā arī divas komandas no Igaunijas. Uzvaras izcīnītas pret “FK Jeno”, “Leģions/Grobiņas SC” un “FK Kurši FSS” komandām. Diemžēl divās spēlēs nācās atzīt pretinieku komandu pārspēku. Rezultatīvi sezonu iesācis students Mareks Brutāns, kurš ar 10 punktiem ir komandas rezultatīvākais spēlētājs. FS Masters sistēmas virslīgas komanda “Latvijas Hipotēka/Oxdog Ulbroka” pēc nospēlētām 7 spēlēm atrodas virslīgas tabulas pirmajā vietā. Pēdējās spēlēs rezultatīvu sniegumu demonstrē Latvijas Universitātes studenti Rolands Kovaļevskis un Kristers Eglītis. Stabilu sniegumu turpina demonstrēt Latvijas Universitātes studenti Emīls Birķis un Emīls Ērglis, savukārt Kārlis Petrovskis turpina atgūties pēc savainojuma. Intensive Seminar in Brussels and Luxembourg is a part of European Studies Masters Programme at the University of Latvia. The aim of the Seminar is to deepen and broaden the knowledge about the EU by visiting key EU institutions and NATO which is a great opportunity to have briefings by representatives of the main institutions and participate in discussions with international experts and officials on current EU issues. The Intensive Seminar in Brussels and Luxembourg was held on took place from 10-15 November, 2013. This year students visited NATO, the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, European Commission, European Parliament, The Committee of the Regions and other key EU institutions. The group was also invited to attend the Global Jean Monnet Conference 2013 in Brussels. It was an unique opportunity to listen to speeches by Mr José Manuel Barroso , President of the European Commission (EC); Mr Jan Truszczyński , EC Director General for Education and Culture

19. janvārī “Rimi OC” norisinājās florbola spēle starp “Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” un “SK Slampe/Zevid”. Spēlē bija vērojama sīva cīņa starp abām komandām, kas turēja intrigu līdz pat trešajam periodam, līdz mūsējie sāka ņemt virsroku. Spēle noslēdzās ar rezultātu 6:4. Pirmā perioda rezultātu 6. minūtē atklāja pretinieki, taču spēles 12. minūtē Ralfs Edvards Grīnvalds atklāja arī “LU/FS Masters” rezultātu pēc veiksmīgas piespēles no Roberta Trofimenko. Pirmais periods noslēdzās ar neizšķirtu - 1:1. Pēc nelielā pārtraukuma Roberts Trofimenko ar Gvido Mieža palīdzību guva otros “LU/FS Masters” vārtus. Mazāk kā pēc piecām minūtēm, spēles 29. minūtē, Maksis Klūga ar “ērgļa acs” palīdzību guva 3. vārtus. 32. un 38. minūtē “SK Slampe/Zevid” izlīdzināja rezultātu uz 3:3. “LU/FS Masters” florbola komanda vēlējās pārtraukumā doties atrodoties vadībā, tāpēc Rodrigo Rotkājam un Laurim Nazarovam saspēlējoties tika gūti vēl vieni vārti. The graduation period has begun at the University of Latvia (UL). The happy days will continue until the 2nd of July, when Nursing Professional Bachelor Study Programme graduates receive their diplomas. This summer more than 4,000students from 13UL faculties will be honoured with their diploma at 33solemn graduation ceremonies.Just like previous years, this year the most of the graduating students are from Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Humanities. According to the tradition, most of the solemn ceremonies will take place in the heart of the Alma Mater– the Great Hall. You will also be able to see the new graduates taking photos of themselves at the University main entrance (at Raiņa bulvāris19) almost every day up to the 2 nd of July. Sestdien, 6. aprīlī, “LU/FS Masters” Lielvārdes sporta centrā aizvadīja sezonas noslēdzošo spēli pret “Jogeva SK Tahe/Olivia”. Spēle bija par 3. vietu Latvijas Florbola 1.līgas B grupā. Diemžēl “LU/FS Masters” šajā cīņā pēcspēles metienos piekāpās pretiniekiem un tādejādi 2023./2024. gada sezonu noslēdza ceturtajā pozīcijā. Spēle aizsākās ļoti strauji ar “Latvijas Universitāte/FS Masters” rezultāta atklāšanu ceturtās minūtes sākumā. Atklāšanas vārtu autors bija Kristers Leksis (Lauris Nazarovs). Ilgi nebija jāgaida līdz Kārlis Spilbergs (Lauris Nazarovs) pieskaitīja vēl vienus vārtus “LU/FS Masters”. Gandrīz septiņas minūtes abas komandas aizvadīja spraigā cīņā bez rezultatīviem punktiem, taču 14. minūtē veiklāki atkal izrādījās mūsu universitātes florbolisti, kad guva vēl vienus vārtus. Rodrigo Rotkājs (Edvards Staķis) bija trešo vārtu autors. Arī viesi no Igaunijas 15. minūtē “sadūšojās” atklāt savu rezultātu ar vienu precīzu vārtu guvumu. Taču 17.minūtē veiksme atkal nonāca “LU
