The Chair of Latvian and General Linguistics and the Chair of Baltic Linguistics of the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Humanities, The Department of Latvian and Baltic Studies invite submissions of abstracts for the 56th International Academic Conference in honour of Professor Arturs Ozols “Grammar and language acquisition” to be held on March 19–20, 2020.

The conference will focus on the principles of grammatical description and interpretation of grammatical concepts in first-language (incl. dialects and subdialects) and second-language acquisition from both a synchronic and a diachronic perspective.

We welcome presentations addressing various grammatical phenomena found in Latvian and also in other languages from a general, areal, typological, cognitive, functional, and contrastive point of view.

The conference is held in cooperation with the subproject “Grammar: an encyclopaedic dictionary” of the National research programme “Latvian”.

Presentations – 20 minutes (15 minutes for speaking and 5 minutes for answering questions).

Participation fee – 30 EUR (to cover coffee break costs).
