The University of Latvia (UL) has received a charter of the Erasmus+ programme, affirming that the international strategy of the UL complies with EU requirements.

The charter is a European Commission issued written document that allows taking part in the Erasmus+ programme activities. The Charter sets out the fundamental principles and the minimum requirements with which the higher education institution must comply when implementing its ERASMUS activities. The EU must provide its citizens with (the possibility to acquire) education and skills, and encourage creativity essential in the contemporary knowledge society. The world is changing rapidly, and education must change along with it – it needs to be modernized and adapted to new ways of teaching and learning. Education, training and non-formal education of the youth are important aspects for creating jobs and promoting European competitiveness. UL’s participation in Erasmus+ will help to achieve these objectives on the national and international levels.
