Call for papers - Conference “General Linguistics: Language System and Language Use”

The Department of Latvian and General Linguistics and the Department of Baltic Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia invite submissions of abstracts for the 50th Arturs Ozols Conference “General Linguistics: Language System and Language Use” to be held in Riga on March 20–21, 2014.

This year the conference is organised in honour of Dr. philol. Emīlija Soida’s 90th anniversary (1924–1989) and is intended to reflect the academic interests of this prominent Latvian linguist by focussing on: 
  • general linguistics;
  •  morphology;
  • morphemics;
  • word-formation;
  • morphosyntax.
Conference languages: Latvian, Lithuanian and English. Presentations: 20 minutes. Participation fee: 15 EUR (includes coffee breaks). Registration forms and abstracts (250–500 words) should be sent to the conference organisers (kalnaca@latnet.lv) by January 15, 2014. Notification of acceptance will be given by January 31, 2014.
