This topic focuses on participatory and co-creative approaches to digital cultural heritage, examining how communities, researchers, and institutions collaboratively collect, curate, and interpret cultural heritage in digital environments. The research may explore methodological, social, and ethical dimensions of participation, including the role of digital platforms, citizen involvement, and emerging computational tools (including, where relevant, artificial intelligence) in supporting access, description, and interpretation of heritage materials. The research focus is open. Possible directions include, but are not limited to:
- How do participatory digital heritage practices reshape relationships between institutions, researchers, and heritage communities?
- What methodological and ethical challenges arise when personal, local, or community-based heritage is collected and curated in digital form?
- How can digital and computational tools, including AI-based methods where appropriate, support participatory heritage work while preserving interpretative plurality and community agency?
