Our research focuses on uncovering the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal tumours, with particular emphasis on pancreatic and gastric cancers. Our group integrates clinical data, molecular biology, and advanced genomic technologies (various sequencing methods, metagenome, transcriptome, sinlge-cell, and spatial transcriptomics) to better understand how inherited and somatic genetic variations and environmental factors for example microbiome contribute to tumour development, progression, and patient outcomes. By analyzing large patient cohorts and biobank samples, we investigate cancer susceptibility genes, DNA repair pathways, immunological mechanisms and biomarkers that may predict therapy response or disease prognosis.
