Holistic sexuality education for promoting family formation values and competence The project “Holistic sexuality education for promoting family formation values and competence” focuses on strengthening the empirical and practical foundations of sexuality education for family formation (SE4FF) in Latvia, with particular attention to adolescents’ perspectives and to the quality of existing educational provision. The research has two core aims. First, it investigates adolescents’ beliefs, knowledge, attitudes, and needs regarding relationships, love, sexuality, and related risk behaviours through a large-scale, representative survey using the Latvian validation of the international YOURLIFE questionnaire. This will provide the first comprehensive, culturally sensitive dataset on socio-ecological factors shaping adolescents’ sexual behaviour in Latvia. Second, the project examines the fit and feasibility of current SE4FF programs in Latvia, using innovative mixed-method approaches, notably Dialogic Research Gatherings as a form of citizen science and co-creation of knowledge with parents, teachers, and pupils. We welcome Marie Curie postdoctoral candidates with interests in sexuality education, family studies, sociology of education, public health, or curriculum research. Ideal candidates will be motivated to work with empirical data, contribute to program evaluation and development, and engage in interdisciplinary, value-sensitive research with strong societal relevance.
