8th volume of Proceedings „Jews in a Changing World” published

8th volume (ed. H.Branover, R.Ferber; in Russian) includes proceedings of the 8-th international conference „Jews in a Changing World”, which was held in Riga from June 30 to July 4, 2011. Conference was devoted to the 450th anniversary of the Jewish community in Latvia and commemorated 70 years from the beginning of Holocaust. Researchers from Latvia, Israel, USA, Canada, Russia and from other countries participated. Conference was organized by Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Latvia, Council of Jewish Communities of Latvia, Museum “Jews in Latvia” and Riga Jewish Youth Center. The first conference “Jews in a Changing World” was held in Riga in 1995, whereas proceedings are traditionally published since 1997 and is the largest academic journal in Jewish studies in Latvia. It includes collection of articles on the East European Jewish history and cultural heritage. Proceedings are available at the Center for Judaic Studies.
