Quantum optics laboratory

The project is realized by Quantum Optics Laboratory, Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy, University of Latvia,

lead by J. Alnis

Research directions of the laboratory:

  • Optical frequency metrology with a femtosecond optical frequency comb.
  • Development of optical frequency standards and comparison with radio-frequency standards.
  • Development of ultra-stable resonators for laser stabilization.
  • Observations of atmosphere and air quality.
  • Development of novel WGM microresonators for optical frequency standards and biosensors, and their characterization with a femtosecond optical frequency comb. [pdf]

Equipment:

With erbium doped optical fiber femtosecond frequency comb syntesizer (Model FC1500-250-WG , Menlo Systems, Germany). Rubidium saturation spectroscopy setup.
