The Centre for Health Management and Informatics of the Faculty of Medicine (FM) of the University of Latvia (UL) was established in 2012 as a platform for projects on health organisation and management, economics, biomedicine and informatics, with an aim to promote the development of health management and informatics in Latvia, as well as to offer expertise in this field to industry companies and national government institutions.

The Centre is also responsible for encouraging the establishment and implementation of professional and post-graduate education programmes for medical students and students of other disciplines, and for obtaining interdisciplinary competencies by health workers.
