The aim of the Master's work is to enable students to carry out studies in selected field of health science, food science, nature sciences, etc. related to nutritional issues with assistance of a qualified scientific supervisor in order to create new theoretical or practical information in the field of nutrition science, so that the results demonstrate successful learning of the master's curriculum and the ability to creative work in this field to ensure that the results are presented in accordance with scientific objectivity, reasoning and ethical requirements in good literary language and may be used in science and practice.

1. Contribute to a theoretical or practical solution to the nutritional problem by using appropriate methods or a set of methods.
2. Promote the student's ability to plan and execute all the basic elements of the research, critically assess the resulting data and potentional development of the research.

The aim of the Master's Thesis project - Part I of the Master's Thesis is to prepare the theoretical background of the study - the justification of the topic choice and related analytical research. In the case of elaboration of master's thesis as a research planning project - also the analytical background of previous planning activities; a proposal for the structure of the master's thesis and the master's thesis elaboration program.
Tasks of the study course:
To develop part I of an original research with a theoretical and applied orientation or in the chosen topic of a research planning project; to prepare the theoretical substantiation for the development of a research or planning project; to obtain and compile empirical materials corresponding to the topic of the work; to perform an analysis of the place, territory or planning situation; to prepare the further thesis elaboration program and master's thesis outline structure.
The language of instruction is Latvian.
Master Thesis II is self-dependent research. The aim in preparing the Master’s thesis II is to strengthen theoretical knowledge and academic skills in the area of the law, developing them in accordance with the requirements of a BA in law or a second-level professional education in law, as well as of the master’s degree study programme, also preparing the student for scholarly research work and for pursuit of a doctorate.
The Master’s thesis II satisfies the requirements of the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia vis-à-vis the successful defence of the thesis, including the preparation of a working plan, identification of the necessary sources of information, and the writing, editing and defending of the thesis.
The entire grade in this course is based on a successful defence of the master’s thesis in front of the Final Examination Commission, as confirmed by the council of the University of Latvia Faculty of Law. The master’s thesis will be graded positively if it is in line
The aim of the Master’s thesis is an in-depth research in linguistics or literary studies within the framework of which the master students independently perform their own research in linguistics or literary studies by selecting a research problem which the students have found particularly relevant to their research needs and interests, present scientifically grounded conclusions by enhancing their skills to analyse, synthesise and generalise the most essential research findings, to demonstrate their novelty in linguistics or literary studies.

1) to develop research skills in linguistics and literary studies;
2) to upgrade the skills required for the application of contemporary research methods in linguistics or literary studies;
3) to enhance the skills required for work with scientific theoretical sources, digital resources and the topical research tools in linguistics and literary studies;

The aim of the course is to prepare a draft of the master's thesis, including the introduction and theoretical part, as well as a research project of the master's thesis and to improve the skills of the research work. The course is intended to support the development of the Master's thesis.
Tasks of study course: students get acquainted with the requirements of the Master's thesis; formulate the topic of the Master's thesis and the research problem; raise the research question and / or hypothesis according to the planned research design.
In accordance with the theme of the Master's thesis, in consultation with the Master's thesis supervisor, student develops the master's thesis plan, identifies the necessary sources, and selects research methods for the analysis of current problems.
