Study for sustainable use of plant and soil biological resources

The overall aim of the doctoral school is to promote interdisciplinary studies of plants and soil by enriching experience of participating master and doctoral students. The students will learn about new research methods and get insight into the cutting-edge research in plant and soil science. Participation in the doctoral school will put the narrow research area pursued within students’ master and doctoral studies in a wider context, and will promote interinstitutional and multidisciplinary scientific cooperation. The aim of the course is to introduce students to the career development and counseling system at an educational institution (organization) based on classic career development theories, their linkage with counseling practice and contemporary psychology research, improving the acquisition of skills for professional master's study goals and tasks in counseling and research, focusing on career planning and counseling. During the course, students are introduced to various psychological work assignments related to career counseling in different age groups (classes), as well as students learn specific methods and approaches, research tools and methodologies used by a career counselor, focusing on examples of research-based practices and in the world and In Latvia. Advanced Studies in Japanese Language and Communication Culture I

The aim of the course is to provide master level students with the opportunity to continue learning Japanese language and communication culture in accordance with B2 language requirements in the Japanese cultural context, looking at the linguistic peculiarities of Japanese compared to Indo-European languages, taking into account the verbal and non-verbal communication features. In addition to the classic textbooks, the range of course materials also includes various digital tools, special applications, and rich Internet resources that ensure up-to date learning process. In terms of communication culture, it is also planned to look at different types of Japanese including non- standard language - regional dialects, different types of speech among young people, deviations from the standard language, slang from a separate material. The goal of the course is to impart knowledge in concepts of rhythm, number, sound and colour from a philosophical perspective from ancient times until XX-XXI century philosophy; to develop competences, creativity and individuality of master students. The obtained knowledge will be applicable both in the field of philosophy and other disciplines such as literature, art, music, culture, social and political sciences. The course provides an opportunity to enhance the doctoral students' theoretical knowledge and research competencies in the branch of music, visual arts and architecture in the sub-branch corresponding to the doctoral research: Latvian folklore, comparative folklore, foreign folklore or theatre and film history and theory (according to Cabinet Regulation No. 49. of 23.01.2018.
