The patroness Ieva Miļūna is a lecturer in international law at the Riga Graduate School of Law, a member of the Council of Independent Experts in International and European Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia. Ieva Miļūna is a graduate of the University of Latvia Faculty of Law. She has augmented her academic experience at the University of Amsterdam, Fordham University in New York, as well as lectured in France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Slovenia. Her areas of specialization include international peace and security, the UN Security Council, the rule of law and international humanitarian law. Ieva Miļūna was one of the initiators of founding the Kristīne Krūma Memorial Scholarship. Support In 2017, the patroness donated EUR 250 to the Kristīne Krūma Memorial Scholarship Fund. Inesa Fausch is a Lithuanian attorney-at-law who has graduated from Vilnius University, Faculty of Law. She completed several MBA courses in Georgetown University and obtained her PhD from the University of Basel, where she published a dissertation on intellectual property rights in personalized medicine. She began her early career as a junior associate at Lithuania's largest law firm, where she specialized in Medical and Life Science Law. She then worked in the private and public sectors in the field of health law, including the AO Foundation (Davos), EUCOPE (Brussels), the University of Basel and Novartis AG (Basel). Currently, she is a legal advisor at the Swiss Institute for Comparative Law (Lausanne), responsible for Central and Eastern European jurisdictions. In addition, she is a lecturer at the University of Bern giving courses on the EU health care system. She is an active member of the European Health Law Association, Interest Group of Biolaw. The study course "Master thesis II" is a continuation of study course "Master thesis I". Master’s Thesis is self-dependent research. The aim in preparing the Master’s thesis is to strengthen theoretical knowledge and academic skills in the area of the law, developing them in accordance with the requirements of the master’s degree study programme, also preparing the student for scholarly research work and for pursuit of a doctorate. The Master’s thesis satisfies the requirements of the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia vis-à-vis the successful defence of the thesis, including the preparation of a working plan, identification of the necessary sources of information, and the writing, editing and defending of the thesis.

Master’s students, providing free legal assistance to disadvantaged persons, are involved in the work of the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Law (FL) of theUniversity of Latvia (UL). Before starting work, students acquire knowledge in the communication psychology, ethics of a lawyer, case research, time planning and other topics. Customers are primarily consulted on labour and housing rights, as well as in maintenance cases, without excluding other issues. Students receive credit points for their work at the Centre. During their work studentsare consulted by faculty teaching staff and UL graduates – legal practitioners.
