Course
The aim of the study course is to provide students with an opportunity to master up to date teaching/learning methodology of physics, to form a system of methodological knowledge and to develop a professional competence in managing a teaching/learning process of physics in the stage of basic education. Objectives of the study course: 1. to provide students with an opportunity to gain knowledge in teaching/learning methodology of physics necessary for professional activity of a teacher of physics, the principal focus being on the methodological principles of the fundamental notions of physics and processes of cognition; 2. to develop skills to apply the most efficient teaching/learning methods to reach particular learning outcomes in studying physics in the stage of basic education by emphasizing the use of a research approach and transversal skills; 3. to develop competence in using up to date teaching/learning methodology and resources for teaching physics in the stage of basic

Organization of Information and Communication Technologies Enriched Study Process
Course
The goal of the course is to help educators improve their teaching methods by incorporating purposeful use of information and communication technology. The course objectives are as follows: 1. To introduce students to the theoretical background of using ICT tools in the study process; 2. Enable practical learning by developing skills to use ICT in the classroom, school and other learning environments.

Teaching/Learning Methodology of Chemistry II
Course
The aim of the study course is to provide students with an opportunity to master basic issues of chemistry teaching/learning methodology: organisation of the study process, planning, normative documents regulating the content of the syllabus of the subject, development of the curriculum at general secondary education optimal and highest levels. Objectives of the study course: 1. to ensure a natural science teacher with the knowledge necessary for teaching the content of chemistry and to understand the organisation of chemistry teaching/learning process, 2. to develop skills to design and analyse the teaching/learning process, 3. to master basic teaching/learning issues of chemistry as a natural science study subject included in the standard of general secondary education at the optimal and highest level.
Language of instruction is Latvian.

The aim of the course is to provide an opportunity for students to develop competence in the organization and management of the learning process of social science and history subjects. Objectives of the study course: 1. Promoting knowledge and understanding of the objectives, content, results to be achieved, performance assessment of social science and history subjects; 2. Improve the students’ competence in social science and history lesson planning, organizing, providing a learner-based learning process and creative environment, selecting teaching methods, methodological materials and means, developing new learning materials, evaluating pupils’ achievements and performance. The course is delivered in Latvian language.

The aim of Teaching Practice IV is to give students an opportunity to develop professional competence of being a teacher of a school subject/s of a specialisation/s of the chosen field/s of study. Objectives of Teaching Practice IV: 1.To comprehend the importance of the school subject/s in the teaching and learning process; 2.To plan, organise, teach, and assess the teaching and learning process in lessons of a school subject/s of a specialisation/s of the chosen field/s of study in the stage of basic school (primary and lower-secondary education); 3.To observe and analyse lessons delivered by other students and/or teachers; 4. To improve the skills of applying appropriate and varied teaching/learning methods and technologies in the process of teaching/learning, in designing and implementing teaching/learning materials and tests; 5. To evaluate one’s professional performance. Language of instruction is Latvian.
