Commemorating life and contribution to law of Kristīne Krūma, Vice-Rector of the Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL), former Constitutional Court Judge, graduate and lecturer of the University of Latvia Faculty of Law, her relatives, friends and like-minded people –Ivars Indāns, Mārtiņš Paparinskis and Ieva Miļūna – in cooperation with the University of Latvia Foundation, have established theKristīne Krūma Memorial Scholarship. Scholarshipis intended for the University of Latvia Faculty of Law study programme “Legal Science” master's students who have shown a particular interest in international and European law. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is the largest and most prestigious international commercial law and arbitration moot in the world, taking place annually in Vienna and involving about 350 teams from around the world, including all the world's best universities. Participation in the competition provides students with a unique and invaluable experience and knowledge, as well as an opportunity for the university to promote its recognition and competitiveness at the international level. For five years, a statue of the ancient Greek goddess of justice, Themis, was housed in the historic building of the University of Latvia, which is also home to the UL Faculty of Law. Over time, it became one of the symbols of Latvia's largest „forge” of lawyers. In the summer of 2017, the owner of the statue moved it to the previous site at the House of Blackheads. In order for the goddess of justice to mark the location of the UL Faculty of Law again, the collection of donations for the Themis statue design competition and the creation of a modern statue has begun.
