Following the amendments to the Law on Higher Education Institutions, which came into force on 01.01.2019, the term accreditation of study programs has been extended. The new accreditation deadlines can be seen here.

The goal of the geography doctoral study program is to prepare highly qualified scientific specialists and teaching staff in geography, as well as highly skilled industry professionals with internationally comparable competence in the field of geography and an internationally comparable doctoral degree in sciences, providing the economy with qualified employees.

The most essential in the doctoral study program is the student's scientific research work, including literature studies, data and material acquisition and analysis, publication preparation and dissertation writing. At the same time, students learn theoretical courses, participate in scientific seminars, present their work results at scientific conferences, and assist in geography bachelor's and master's study programs.
