In order to promote professional development of doctors and other persons involved in health care, as well as to provide existing and emerging medical staff with the opportunity to develop in research work, a Centre of Continuing Education has been established at the Faculty of Medicine (FM) of the University of Latvia (UL).
FM Centre of Continuing Education:
- organises the continuing education courses, conferences and other activities for medical practitioners, pharmacists, social workers and other healthcare-related persons;
- promotes and implements cross-disciplinary scientific research on public health problems;
- cooperates with state, local and private institutions, authorities and commercial enterprises dealing with health care related issues and promoting the participation of UL teaching staff in addressing current medical challenges.
