The Adult Pedagogical Education Center was established in 1993 with the aim of contributing to in-service teacher training in Latvia. It became operational in 1994/95 academic year by admitting the first students and organizing the first continuing education courses. The Center has experience in developing and implementing large ESF projects.
Main activities:
Development of professional development programs for new teachers, taking into account the state education policy, the needs of employers, teachers and other stakeholders;
Organization of quality implementation of continuing education courses;
Providing consultations on the possibilities of improving the professional competence of teachers by attending further education courses;
Establishment of a cooperation network with educational institutions of various levels and public organizations in Latvia and abroad, which deal with issues of adult pedagogical education and further education.
