University of Latvia’s Faculty of Medicine invites prospective students to submit applications for studies at the Higher professional study programme “MEDICINE”. This is the only programme offered for the Spring 2013 intake at the University. The application deadline for EU/EEA/Swiss citizens is December 14, 2012, for other country citizens – November 30, 2012.

The Spring semester starts with a registration week from January 28 till February 3. Lectures start on February 4, 2013. Admission requirements 1. General secondary education diploma/certificate;
2. English language proficiency. If English is not your native language and/or your previous education isn’t obtained in English, you must prove the language of instruction proficiency. Prospective undergraduate students must present results of one of the internationally recognized language tests or a grade (no less than 6 (almost good) in a 10 point grading system) in English (or other foreign language required) in the general secondary education diploma. 3. Grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Natural Sciences (the grades should be no less than 6 (almost good) in a 10 point grading system). Applicants should submit the following documents 1. Notary certified copy of the diploma of secondary education and grade transcript in original language. Education documents must be legalized. Find more information about the legalization procedure and the list of countries which are exempt from the legalization procedure here;
2. If education documents original language is not Latvian or English, a notarized translation in English must be provided.
3. Document confirming proficiency of the English language  (if necessary);
4. Application form, available here. Note that the application form must be filled out online and printed out afterwards. All the application documents must be sent via regular mail;
5. Copy of passport;
6. Two passport-size photos (size 3x4 cm);
7. Medical Report
8. Copy of entire vaccination document about Hepatitis B and TD-Tetanus/Diphtheria vaccinations (The last (third) Hepatitis B vaccination must be done within a 10 year period. The last TD-Tetanus/Diptheria vaccination must not be older than 10 years.);
