The University of Latvia accepts the following internationally recognized language tests:
English language tests
TOEFL IBT: score of at least 53 for Bachelor’s level programmes; at least 80 for programme “Medicine” and Master’s level programmes
TOEFL PBT: score of at least 480 for Bachelor’s level programmes; at least 550 for programme “Medicine” and Master’s level programmes
IELTS: score of at least 4.5 for Bachelor’s level programmes; at least 6 for programme “Medicine” and Master’s level programmes
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English: B2 level for Bachelor’s level programmes; C level for Master’s level programmes; C2 for Master’s degree programme “English Philology”
First Certificate in English (FCE): B2 level for Bachelor’s level programmes
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English: B level (C1 level for Master’s degree programme “English Philology” only)
Pearson Test of English: B2 level for Bachelor’s level programmes
French language tests
DELF (Diplômed’études en langue française) – B2 level
DALF (Diplômeapprofondi de langue française) – at least C1 level
TCF (Test de connaissance du français) – at least 400 points
TEF (Test d’Evaluation du Français) – at least 541 points
German language tests
DSD (Deutsche Sprachdiplom der Kulturministerkonferenz) – at least level 2
DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfungfür den Hochschulzugang) – at least level 2
TestDaF (Test Deutsch alsFremdsprache) – at least level 4 in all test sections

Latvian language certificates
Certificate of the National Language issued by the State Education Centre of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia – at least level A2
Certificate issued by the Language Centre of the University of Latvia minimum grade – 4 (almost satisfactory)
