This unique dual-degree study programme is offered in collaboration with SBS Swiss Business School. The Dual Degree Programme in International Finance and International Management is designed to offer you a rich and engaging learning experience that prepares you for a successful career in both financial management and business operations.

The objectives of the study programme are to:

  • Provide competitive, student-centred higher professional education in international finance and prepare students for practical work in an international environment;
  • Develop students’ abilities and skills in research and creative work;
  • Equip students with broad knowledge and understanding of international finance, corporate accounting and financial management, international business, economic development patterns, investment project and portfolio development, financial markets and their instruments, as well as emerging technologies in finance, including financial and cybersecurity risks;
  • Develop students’ skills and abilities required for work within the international finance system;
  • Encourage students to become independent, sustainably minded, responsible, and creative individuals;
  • Develop general competencies required in the modern labour market, including big data analysis, business intelligence, and foreign language skills;
  • Enhance students’ skills for independent study in order to deepen their academic and professional knowledge;
  • Promote the continuous development of the programme’s content and study process in line with national economic development, the international market, and technological progress.

Admission Requirements for Foreign Nationals with Secondary Education Completed Outside Latvia:

EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and EU long-term residents:

Non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and Non-EU long-term residents:

  • General secondary school diploma
  • English language proficiency
  • Grade in Mathematics must be no less than 8 on a 10-point grading scale
  • The average grade on the secondary education certificate across all subjects must be at least 6 on a 10-point grading scale
  • All grades must be passing (at least 4 on a 10-point grading scale)
  • If the secondary education certificate does not include a grade in mathematics, it can be replaced by a grade in the subject of economics/business management field (the grade must be at least (minimum 8 on a 10-point grading scale).
  • SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) overall score no lower than 1200

As part of the admission process, applicants will be required to participate in an online interview.

Admission Requirements for Latvian Citizens/Non-Citizens and Foreign Nationals with Secondary Education Obtained in Latvia:

Admission criteria for individuals who obtained their secondary education from 2004 onwards:

  • CE in Mathematics*;
  • CE in English language at least level B2;
  • CE in Latvian language;
  • Average score of all CEs completed by the individual
    * For individuals who have completed secondary education before 2008, the centralised examination in mathematics may be replaced by the average mark in mathematics indicated in the secondary education document (or the average mark in algebra and geometry)

Admission criteria for individuals who completed their secondary education up to and including 2003 and individuals with special needs:

  • final grade in Mathematics (or the average grade of Algebra and Geometry);
  • final grade in English language no less than 6 on a 10-point grading scale (can be substituted with an internationally recognised English-language test result at a minimum of level B2.);
  • final average grade in mandatory subjects
  • Study Abroad Opportunities
    Ready to explore the world while you study? Once you’ve completed at least one year of study, you can take part in the Erasmus programme and spend one or two semesters at one of our partner universities. The study mobility period ranges from 2 to 12 months. Your tuition fees for the time abroad are covered by the partner university, while you continue to pay your fees at the BA School of Business and Finance. Plus, you’ll receive an Erasmus+ scholarship to help with travel and living expenses. If you’re enrolled in this dual degree programme, participation in the Erasmus+ exchange programme is mandatory!
  • Internships Abroad
    Looking to gain some real-world experience? You can also undertake two internships abroad, each lasting several months, funded by the Erasmus programme. These internships provide invaluable international experience, allowing you to develop practical skills and gain insights into companies across Europe. The mobility period for each internship can last between 2 to 12 months, and you’ll receive an Erasmus+ scholarship to support your stay.
  • Short-Term Erasmus Mobility Programmes
    Pressed for time? No problem! You can join short-term Business Week trips. These intensive, international experiences will allow you to gain in-depth knowledge of the global business environment, build a network of international contacts, and improve your language skills.

Additional information and study plan

For first and second-year students, classes take place on weekdays from 8:30 to 16:00. Third and fourth-year students have classes in the evenings on weekdays.
