Dual Award programme in Computer Science has been developed through careful and detailed collaboration between the University of Lincoln UK and the University of Latvia, drawing on the experience of both institutions. The programme is considered to provide industry-required knowledge in order to respond to the needs of the labour market and the interests of students. By finishing the programme the students shall receive dual degrees: Bachelor of Natural Sciences in Computer Science (University of Latvia) and BSc (Hons) Computer Science (University of Lincoln UK).
The University of Latvia Bachelor's degree study programme “Computer Science” has already twice been accredited at the European level and is the only study programme in Latvia awarded the "Euro-Inf Quality Label". In an annual survey, employers recognise the study programme “Computer Science” as the best among not only IT programmes, but also study programmes of all fields.

The objective of the Bachelor’s programme in Computer Science is to pre-pare specialists who are able to design and develop complex applications and information systems.
The programme tasks:
1. to provide basic knowledge in the computer industry in general and in the chosen degree programme,
2. to provide basic knowledge in the foundations of mathematics of com-puter science,
3. to provide knowledge, develop skills necessary for the design and devel-opment of complex applications and information systems,
4. to develop the first skills of scientific research work, which will allow to participate in research projects, to continue studies in the Master’s degree,
5. to develop skills necessary for independent continuation of education, renewing knowledge and professional development.
The University of Latvia Bachelor's degree study programme “Computer Science” has already twice been accredited at the European level and is the only study programme in Latvia awarded the "Euro-Inf Quality Label". A student at the University of Latvia will enrol on and study a local programme that has been evaluated to ensure that the module learning outcomes were equivalent to those delivered at the University of Lincoln. On graduation the student will receive two certificates: one for the University of Latvia degree programme and one for the equivalent University of Lincoln programme. The award transcript will be designed to make clear that the qualification had be gained through a dual award mechanism.
Students have the opportunity to start their carrier during the studies. The study programme includes a compulsory internship in the industry, which already starts in the 2nd year of studying, so all graduates of the bachelor's programme already have actual work experience. Graduates can fully integrate into the international scope of IT specialists. After graduation, they receive promotions and work on complex international projects. After graduation, students can continue their studies at the Master’s level.
Admission Requirements for Foreign Nationals with Secondary Education Completed Outside Latvia:
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and EU long-term residents:
- General secondary school diploma;
- English language proficiency:
- IELTS Academic minimum score of 6 overall and minimum score of 5.5 in each section;
- TOEFL IBT minimum score of 79 overall and at least 18 points in the reading section, 17 points in the listening section, 20 points in the speaking section and 20 points in the writing section;
- PTE Academic at least 65 points overall and at least 59 points in each of the sections;
- LanguageCert International at least level B2 and at least 33 points in each section. - Grade in Mathematics must be no less than 6 on a 10-point grading scale;
- The average grade on the secondary education certificate across all subjects must be at least 7 on a 10-point grading scale.
- All grades must be passing (at least 4 on a 10-point grading scale)
Non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and Non-EU long-term residents:
- General secondary school diploma;
- English language proficiency:
- IELTS Academic minimum score of 6 overall and minimum score of 5.5 in each section;
- TOEFL IBT minimum score of 79 overall and at least 18 points in the reading section, 17 points in the listening section, 20 points in the speaking section and 20 points in the writing section;

- SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) overall score no lower than 1200 secondary high school diploma;

Admission Requirements for Latvian Citizens/Non-Citizens and Foreign Nationals with Secondary Education Completed in Latvia:
Admission criteria for individuals who obtained their secondary education from 2004 onwards:
- CE in Mathematics*;
- CE in English language at least Level B2;
- CE in Latvian language;
- Average score of all CEs completed by the individual;
* For individuals who have completed secondary education before 2008, the centralised examination in mathematics may be replaced by the average mark in mathematics indicated in the secondary education document (or the average mark in algebra and geometry)
Admission criteria for individuals who completed their secondary education up to and including 2003 and individuals with special needs:
- final grade in Mathematics (or the average grade of Algebra and Geometry);
- English language proficiency, accepted are the following international English language tests (except in cases where secondary education was obtained in a country where English is the official language):
- IELTS Academic minimum score of 6 overall and minimum score of 5.5 in each section;
- TOEFL IBT minimum score of 79 overall and at least 18 points in the reading section, 17 points in the listening section, 20 points in the speaking section and 20 points in the writing section;
- PTE Academic at least 65 points overall and at least 59 points in each of the sections;
- LanguageCert International at least level B2 and at least 33 points in each section. - final average grade in mandatory subjects
Special conditions:
1) grade in mathematics (the grade must be no lower than 6 (in a 10 point grading system).
2) all grades must be passing (at least 4 in a 10 point grading system).
3) the average grade in all subjects must be no lower than 7 (in a 10 point grading system).
4) English language proficiency is required
CE in English at least at level B2 (as well as the optimal level CE must have at least 65 percent in each part, the highest level CE must have at least 50 percent in each part),
or
demonstrated by the following international English language tests (except in cases where secondary education was obtained in a country where English is the official language):
