Academic and administrative staff, as well as student representatives interested in organising short-term collective mobilities, are invited to fill out the application form, providing information about the planned activity, the involved departments, expected funding sources, and any specific requirements for participants.
The in-person mobility period is five days. A budget of 500 EUR is available for the implementation of each mobility program. Therefore, the program application must include information on how this amount will be used (e.g., for coffee breaks, cultural activities, etc.) and how the organisers plan to cover any additional costs. When planning the program, organisers should consider participants' travel days and that students will be arriving from different European cities.
It is recommended to start the event in the afternoon or evening of the first day and conclude on the morning of the last day. Each project is advised to plan for about 30 participants, including up to 24 from the alliance’s partner universities.
Possible additional activities may include:
- Sports games bringing together representatives from different partner universities or excursions;
- A cultural event focused on a specific theme related to a local or regional topic;
- An extended event organised by an association on a specific topic.
Students will receive a FORTHEM grant to cover travel and accommodation costs. Organisers will receive 500 EUR for the implementation of the visit, according to the event’s budget. Guest lecturers from other universities can be invited by applying for Erasmus+ teaching or training mobility funding from the sending university.
Organisers are not required to provide accommodation for students but must offer information on recommended options.
At the end of the planned program, students will receive participation certificates. Organisers must submit a list of attendees and a visit report to the FORTHEM office at the host university within two months after the visit. The report should include feedback on the experience and suggestions for future activities.
Examples of previous short-term mobility projects are available here. Submitted applications will be reviewed within each university. The selection will be based on the following criteria:
- Quality and innovative nature of the proposed program (including feasibility, content, structure, and organisation)
- Alignment with the core values of the FORTHEM alliance
- Assurance of covering organisational costs not related to student mobility
- Balanced representation of FORTHEM universities in the selected projects
- Inclusion of diverse students and interests in all selected activities
- Priority for academic fields that have not yet been represented
Application deadline: September 1, 2025.
Applicants will be informed of the selection results by the end of September 2025.
