Chairman of ASEM Lifelong Learning visits the University of Latvia

January 12, 2009 professor Arne Carlsen (chairman of ASEM LLL HUB) from University of Aarhus (Denmark) has planned his visit to Riga. He will meet the management of UL and give a speech on the opening of the doctoral school. The guest professor’s lecture will be broadcast online in the UL portal.
At 10 a.m., guest professor Carlsen is going to meet UL Rector prof. Marcis Auzins and Vice-Rector prof. Indrikis Muiznieks in UL, Raina Boulevard 19, to discuss the five research networks of ASEM LLL HUB in which researchers of UL take active participation, as well as discuss the possibilities and current events of World’s universities academic ratings.
Afterwards, at 2 p.m., prof. Carlsen is going to open the doctoral school "Human capacity and learning for life in various including contexts" with his lecture „Human capacity and learning, innovations and employment” in the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology in Jūrmalas Avenue 74/76, room G-16. It will be followed by a colloquium about the doctorate research conception within the framework of ASEM. The guest professor’s lecture will be broadcast online in UL portal.
