This year, the THE Rankings have been compiled for the 12th time. “The results are trusted by students, their families and by academics, university leaders, and governments. For the UL to take 601st-800th place in the world is an outstanding achievement and should be celebrated”, says Phil Baty, editor of the THE World University Rankings.
The California Institute of Technology (USA) has been ranked as the number one university in the world this year, with University of Oxford (UK) taking the second place, and Stanford University (USA) the third.
The THE Rankings, together with QS World University Rankings and Shanghai’s ARWU Rankings, are the three most influential university ranking systems in the world. The UL is also the first and only Latvian university listed on the QS World University Rankings, having landed in the 701st-800th place for three years in a row. The UL has received 4 out of 5 stars in the QS Stars University rating system.
