Project description:
The aim of the project is to develop mathematical models and methods that will enable efficient solution of tasks related to adaptive control of dynamical systems under uncertainty in the field of environmental management, to carry out a qualitative analysis of the corresponding optimal control problems, and to create a decision support system for assessing the usefulness of additional information. To achieve this aim, fuzzy logic based modelling tools will be developed and, using these tools, control and management methods will be improved with applications to pollution control and renewable resource harvesting problems.

The scientific group exchange project, HyperXAI (Hypercomplex Explainable AI: Mathematical Foundations for Trustworthy Models), has been approved. The participants of the curent project were actively involved in preparing the application. Funding has been granted under the MSCA actions of the “Horizon Europe” programme named after Marie Skłodowska-Curie. The HyperXAI project will be coordinated, on behalf of the University of Latvia, by O. Grigorenko; the project will also involve S. Asmuss, I. Uļjane, and M. Zemlītis. The HyperXAI project plans to establish an international research network, bringing together research groups from Latvia, Poland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iraq, South Korea, and Brazil.
