University of Latvia Education Innovation Forum “Scenarios for the Development of the Education System”
Fostering discussion on a long-term vision for the development of the education system, drawing upon international best practice, and identifying untapped opportunities within Latvia’s educational landscape, the University of Latvia (UL) inaugurated a new annual tradition – the Education Innovation Forum “LU-EDU-2026”.
The inaugural forum took place on 29 April, from 10:00 to 16:30, in the UL Great Hall, Raiņa bulvāris 19, Riga. That year’s forum was titled “Scenarios for the Development of the Education System”. During the event, experts and opinion leaders from Latvia and abroad engaged in discussions on the benefits and challenges of various development scenarios across three thematic areas:
Transforming the Architecture of the Education System – Towards Personalized Solutions
Interdisciplinary Learning – A Gain or Loss of Competence?
Educational Technologies and Learning – How to Use Them Wisely? – organised in cooperation with the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO
The discussions brought together leading experts in education, innovation, and research from a number of internationally recognised institutions, representing the academic community, the spheres of policy-making and innovation development, alongside specialists from UL.
