“Looking at the University of Latvia in its second century, during the changes it is essential to provide space for excellence and environment for development, while acknowledging the diversity of the university. How to retain the universal code of the university, while keeping up with the times? How to enable excellence by thinking and acting sustainably? How to use digital solutions effectively without losing people behind them? These are crucial questions to which we must seek answers in the times of change we negotiate today. The more successful the operation of the University of Latvia, the stronger the basis for the growth of the Latvian state and society,” emphasizes the Rector of the University of Latvia, Professor Indriķis Muižnieks.
At the conference, experts from Latvia, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia and international academic organizations will share their views on modern universities and current processes in higher education, including university governance, promoting sustainable growth and current digitalisation processes.
The conference languages are English and Latvian, and it is structured in four thematic sessions: “Governance of university: experience, challenges and solutions”, “How to be excellent? Development of studies”, How to grow sustainability? Environment. Human. Choices” and “Digital university. Relations in between human and technologies”.
The conference will take place online on Thursday, September 23, from 10:00 to 16:30.
