From January 21, to March 21, 2021, the University of Latvia holds the annual international scientific conference for the 79th time. The UL conference has become an integral part of scientific life, which promotes traditions spanning over almost a century.

The conference will be held remotely this year, inviting researchers, speakers and everyone interested to attend 130 different section meetings representing scientific fields, 12 priority research topics and interdisciplinarity, presenting current scientific achievements and innovations, including Covid-19 research.

On February 10, the conference was opened in accordance with a long-standing tradition by an academic plenary session with the report of Valdis Dombrovskis, Honorary Member of the University of Latvia, Executive Vice President of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People, “Economic development perspectives of Europe and Latvia in the period after Covid-19 crisis and the opportunities provided by European funding”.

The conference welcomes everyone interested in its versatile themes and sections – students, lecturers and researchers from all over Latvia – universities, scientific institutions, representatives of companies and organizations, as well as foreign specialists who participate in the international sections of the conference. Everyone is invited to participate – as speakers with presentations, and as listeners and discussion participants.

In recent years, the University of Latvia conference has brought together many higher education institutions and researchers of Latvia, affirming itself as an event where scientific achievements are discussed with entrepreneurs and leaders of various economic sectors, as well as with scientists from various foreign scientific institutions.
