From October 26, several security-enhancing regulations are in force at the University of Latvia (UL), including restrictions on access to UL premises. Only UL students and staff are permitted to enter, and the premises are closed to other visitors.

Entry into the University of Latvia premises permitted only to its students and employees, the use of face masks is mandatory

Despite the exceptions to wearing the face masks issued by the Cabinet of Ministers, permitting optional use at educational institutions, UL has stipulated that wearing masks is a mandatory requirement in UL shared spaces, libraries and auditoriums to ensure the safety of UL students and staff. Everyone present at any of the UL premises must be able to identify themselves by presenting a valid employee or student card upon request of security guards and service personnel. A hand disinfection point is provided at the entrance to all buildings.

Studies are conducted remotely

According to the decision issued after the extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 27, the studies will take place remotely until the end of the year, except for the acquisition of the applied part of the programmes, where the material and technical equipment available on the premises is required. Students can obtain current information about the organization of the study process at the dean's office of their faculty.
