The University of Latvia in cooperation with Riga Technical University is organizing its second student Business Opportunity Festival - Icebreakers'19. At the festival, students are invited to discover potential business opportunities, learn about available support instruments to start their own business. During the festival, young people have the opportunity to present their business ideas and compete for the grand prize - 10,000 EUR.

Icebreakers'19 will take place at the newly opened University of Latvia Science House and will bring together over 1,000 energetic students, fast-growing start-ups and business enthusiasts. The main objective of the conference is to encourage young people to explore the diversity of business opportunities in different fields, and to gain global experience and knowledge. The event will be opened by a speech by President of the Republic of Latvia – Egils Levits.

“There are three ways in which we can learn in our lifetime – to learn theoretical knowledge, to learn from our own, or to learn from our best practices. Today, those who can combine all three of these things have the greatest and lasting success. The Icebreakers Opportunity Festival is not only an opportunity to meet like-minded people but also a unique opportunity to learn from the best and gain experience in testing your business ideas,” emphasizes prof. Gundars Berzins.

Almost 60 international entrepreneurs and technology experts from internationally recognized companies like Google, WIX, Revolut, DraugiemGroup, Anatomy Next and others will inspire, share experiences and knowledge throughout the day on two parallel stages.

Alongside the discussions, participants will be invited to visit the expo zone of international accelerators and incubators, as well as, meet potential employers, like-minded people and learn about the latest trends in the business sector.

At the Business Ideas Competition, students will have a chance to pitch their business ideas and fight for the grand prize – 10,000 EUR. The application process is open until September 30.
