From June 19 to 21, Riga will host the 20th Baltic Student Song and Dance Festival “Gaudeamus,” featuring a diverse program of concerts and cultural events.

On 19 June, a folk music and dance programme will take place at Dome Square in cooperation with the “Herb Market” (“Zāļu tirgus”). At 5:00 PM, the festival’s opening concert will be held in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia, and at 8:00 PM, a Folk Dance Ensemble Concert “On the Same Path” will take place at the Dailes Theatre.

On 20 June from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM wind orchestras will perform in Vērmanes Garden, while at 6:30 a Lithuanian Music Concert will be held in the Great Hall of the University of Latvia. At 8:00 PM a Sacred Music Concert is planned at Riga Cathedral.

On the final day of the festival, 21 June, at 4:00 PM, participants will march from Old Riga to Brīvības Square, where the grand concert “To Infinity…” (“Līdz bezgalībai…”) will take place at 5:00 PM.

Admission to the festival’s open-air concerts is free of charge. Admission to the concerts at the Dailes Theatre, Great Hall of the University of Latvia and the Riga Cathedral is available with free entrance tickets. Information on how to obtain the free tickets will follow.

Update: Free admission tickets are still available for the Sacred Music Concert and the Lithuanian Folk Music Concert; they can be picked up at “Biļešu paradīze” ticket offices and at www.bilesuparadize.lv. No tickets are required for the outdoor festival concerts at Doma Square, Vērmane Garden, and Brīvības Square.
