The program provides students with the opportunity to obtain an academic education in economics, to develop into individuals with analytical thinking skills, and to cultivate the ability to independently solve problems, make decisions, and carry out creative and practical work. It offers practical knowledge and tools for addressing economic issues.

Study program director

  • 1. gads – mikroekonomika, informātika, biznesa svešvaloda, uzņēmējdarbības ekonomika, statistika, socioloģija u. c.;
  • 2. gads – makroekonomika, ekonometrija, finanšu teorija, grāmatvedība, komercdarbības finanses, ekonomikas politika, kursa darbs u. c.;
  • 3. gads – investīcijas, nodokļi, finanšu analīze, darba ekonomika, bakalaura darbs u. c.

Lai gan studiju procesā prakse nav iekļauta, studentiem tiek piedāvātas iespējas mācību laikā pieteikties praksei uzņēmumos: lietvedībā un grāmatvedības pamatos, finanšu vai ekonomisko procesu analīzē. Prakses vietas var būt valsts iestādes un uzņēmumi Latvijā vai ārzemēs Erasmus+ programmas ietvaros. 

Absolventi var strādāt uzņēmumos, bankās, auditorfirmās, ministrijās, Valsts ieņēmumu dienestā, muitā un citās iestādēs par finanšu menedžeriem, grāmatvežiem, nodokļu ekonomistiem, auditoru asistentiem, statistiķiem, ekonomistiem analītiķiem.

During a single cycle of studies, students have the opportunity to spend up to 12 months abroad for studies or internships. Currently, the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences has over 320 Erasmus+ cooperation agreements with universities across Europe and beyond. Students can participate in exchange studies in countries such as Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Turkey, Portugal, Slovakia, Malta, and many others.

In addition, students may take part in exchange programmes based on bilateral agreements, which allow for study opportunities in 53 countries worldwide — including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and more.

Short-term mobility options are also available through the FORTHEM Alliance, offering students the chance to gain new knowledge and skills in Germany, Poland, Norway, Romania, Italy, France, Finland, and Spain.
