CONFERENCE
On 24 November 9:00 – 13:30, the first BioPhoT conference, “BioPhoT – Latvia’s Innovation Launchpad,” will take place at the Riga Technical University Science and Innovation Centre. The event will bring together representatives of the biomedical and photonics industries, researchers, and policymakers to explore innovation projects implemented in Latvia and the platform’s future plans.
Participants will also hear success stories from international and local companies, demonstrating how scientific ideas can successfully evolve into commercialised products, and join expert discussions on the importance of innovation development. The conference will also offer an in-depth look at the first 40 BioPhoT-funded PIP projects in the fields of biomedicine and photonics, with the best submissions recognised in special award categories.
The programme features guest lectures, presentations of statistics and industry insights, and the signing of a cooperation agreement between RTU and Latvenergo, highlighting the role of the BioPhoT platform as a key driver of innovation and science-industry collaboration.
