In April 2026, INTEGRA project partners gathered in Évora, Portugal — hosted by Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Alentejo, I.P. — for the second interregional meeting of the project. Event was attended also respresentatives of University of Latvia and Riga Planning Region.

The meeting marked an important milestone in the implementation phase of INTEGRA, bringing together project partners and associated policy authorities to exchange experiences and discuss the preliminary findings emerging from the regional diagnoses developed in each partner region. Discussions focused on the strengths and weaknesses identified in the planning and implementation of territorial tools across Europe, fostering mutual learning and peer exchange.

Partners also had the opportunity to learn more about the rich and diversified experience of CCDR Alentejo in promoting integrated territorial strategies under the Alentejo 2030 Regional Programme. The event also included study visits and networking moments in the Alentejo region, offering valuable opportunities to strengthen cooperation among partners and deepen the understanding of local development dynamics.

About the INTEGRA project
The Interreg Europe project INTEGRA focuses on strengthening capacities for the development and governance of territorial instruments in order to more effectively implement, at the local level, the synergy of green, social and digital transitions, in line with the objectives set out in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the EU Green Deal. The project is implemented by eight partners from eight countries, promoting mutual learning and policy improvement across regions, with the aim of making territorial strategies more impactful and challenge-oriented, while also contributing to the post-2027 planning cycle. In the Latvian context, within the framework of the project, UL FESS CETS, in cooperation with the Riga Planning Region, will further develop the Riga Planning Region Development Programme 2022–2027, strengthening an integrated territorial approach and sustainable regional development.
