On behalf on University of Latvia as leading partner in project MODEST there is invitation to participate in the MODEST project training on the organisation and management of doctoral studies and research methodology on May 27-28.

The training will be organized in the Zoom virtual space and will address issues such as:
- Effective remote monitoring of doctoral and postgraduate students in the UK;
- Organization and administration of doctoral education in Finland;
- Centers of excellence and international projects;
- Presentations of course descriptions developed in the MODEST project:

A2: Project writing, project management, search for funding sources
A3: International research writing and presentation skills
A4: Research ethics, intellectual property rights and protection of personal data
A5: "3I" - interdisciplinarity, intercultural, internationalization in research

MODEST is a three-year project aimed at modernizing doctoral studies in science in partner countries. The wider aim of the project is to improve the opportunities for doctoral cooperation between partner countries' higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Research Area (ERA).

The aim of the MODEST project is to improve the quality of doctoral studies in engineering by modernizing the curriculum, optimizing doctoral studies, promoting the supervision of scientific research and increasing academic mobility. In order to achieve sustainable results, it is planned to develop web platforms and a virtual network using different approaches and information and communication methods.
