The Institutional Development Center of the University of Latvia is a driving force for purposeful and sustainable change within the University.

The Center’s work is based on the understanding that change is a natural and necessary process of growth, guiding UL toward its strategic goal – to become the leading research university in the Baltic region.

In close cooperation with other UL structural units, the Center implements and oversees large-scale projects aimed at:

  • implementing strategic transformations,
  • improving governance,
  • advancing digitalization and IT system development,
  • developing and introducing new study programs,
  • strengthening scientific capacity,
  • implementing the new doctoral study model,
  • implementing the new academic career model,
  • modernizing the study and research environment,
  • ensuring sustainable development.

These changes foster growth not only for the University of Latvia and its academic community but also for society as a whole.
