CONFERENCE
With the start of the new academic year, sports leagues are returning to the University of Latvia (UL), giving students the opportunity to stay active, compete, and connect with other members of the UL community throughout the academic year.
This year, the three most popular UL sports leagues will once again take place – basketball, volleyball, and football.
Registration is open until September 28.
The regular championship will take place in two stages:
- Stage 1: October 8 – December 16, 2026
- Stage 2: February 2 – April 23, 2027
UL Open Volleyball League
The Volleyball League will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 19:00 to 22:00. Games will be held at the Riga 1st Medical College Sports Hall, Tomsona iela 37.
The league is open to both experienced volleyball players and those who simply want to play regularly and improve their skills. The open league format gives teams the opportunity to compete in an exciting and active environment throughout the season.

UL Open Basketball League
Basketball enthusiasts will have the opportunity to test their skills in the UL Open Basketball League this season. Games will take place on Tuesdays from 19:30 to 23:00 at the UL BA School of Business and Finance Sports Hall, Skanstes iela 43.
Whether basketball is your strongest sport or you simply want to stay active and play regularly with a team, this is your chance to step onto the court and compete for victories throughout the season.

UL Open Football League
Football games will take place on Thursdays from 19:30 to 23:00 at the UL BA School of Business and Finance Sports Hall, Skanstes iela 43.
The UL Open Football League is suitable both for teams with more playing experience and for those who want to play futsal regularly and compete against other teams.

Three leagues – three opportunities to stay active throughout the season. Volleyball, basketball, or football – choose your sport, create a team, and sign up for the UL Sports Leagues!
If you don’t have a team yet, don’t worry! This season, you can also register individually and find teammates to play with.
