CONFERENCEUL Volleyball league
With the start of the new academic year, the UL Open Volleyball League 2026/2027 season also begins at the University of Latvia. The aim of the league is to promote volleyball among UL students and staff, support the development of student volleyball, and determine the champions of the season.
UL students and employees, as well as UL graduates for up to one year after receiving their diploma, are eligible to participate in the league. A team may include no more than two UL graduates in its season roster. A team representing UL may also include up to three students from other higher education institutions in Latvia.
Teams from other higher education institutions may also participate in the UL Open Volleyball League, with a maximum of four such teams allowed per season.

After the team application has been received, the team captain will be sent a team roster form.
Team roster submission deadline: October 1, 2026, at 23:59.
Each team may register up to 12 players for the season, while a maximum of 8 players may participate in each game. Each participant may play for only one team.
Game schedule: Games will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 19:00 to 22:00 at the UL Riga 1st Medical College Sports Hall, Tomsona iela 37, Riga.
Teams will compete in a 6 vs. 6 format, with two substitute players allowed. Teams may include players of any gender, and matches will be played using a men’s-height volleyball net. The league is limited to a maximum of 12 teams.
Participation fee:
*UL students and employees: EUR 20 per academic semester or EUR 40 for the entire season.
*Representatives of other higher education institutions: EUR 50 per academic semester or EUR 100 for the entire season.
To participate in the league, players must purchase the appropriate UL Sports Pass. Before the team’s first game of each semester, the team captain must present proof of payment for all players.
