Chess trainings

"You can't teach chess, you can only learn chess," said chess master Mikhail Botvinnik.

Keeping this small basic truth of chess in mind, we invite all students of the University of Latvia to join a chess group led by two enthusiasts of this great game - Kristers Nagainis and Mareks Markāns.

When you come to a chess club, you will have the opportunity to learn not to get lost in the unfathomable ways of playing chess, as well as to have a good time with other game enthusiasts.

Also, if you want peace and quiet or experience how sports, art and science come together in one, the chess club will be the right place.

Students of the University of Latvia can attend chess classes free of charge.

Classes can only be attended by people who have completed the vaccination cycle or have fallen ill with COVID-19 (a passport or ID card and a vaccination or illness certificate must be brought with them).

Training times: Wednesdays at 18.00. Venue: University of Latvia, House of Sciences, Auditorium 203

It is advisable to apply in advance by writing or calling 29190363 (Mareks) or 26008102 (Kristers).
