Nena Markovic, Raimonds Kokarevics and Javier Mendoza, students of the second year of the European Studies Master Program were awarded with a Certificate of honor for significant contribution to developing of scientific research paper „Living in Latvia” for the Latvian Economic Development Forum research paper competition that was issued by the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Latvia on the ceremony hold the past 9th of November.

The research paper explores the satisfaction and motivation of the international students that come to Latvia in order to make an exchange. In addition, it makes a comparison with the answers of the local students to extract conclusions and address recommendation to the higher education institutions. The paper was supervised by the Prof.Dr.Mihails Hazans of the University of Latvia that was also present on the act. In the same ceremony were also awarded different research papers on the economical field being the first prize up to 1.000 Lats.

The ceremony counted with the present of important economic authorities like the Dr. Inese Vaidere, president of the LEAF, and in special with the Prime Minister of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis who gave an interesting speech on the “European competitiveness and Latvia Challenges”.
