Applications are now open for FORTHEM Alliance Short-Term Mobilities (STM), which will take place in September 2026. The programme offers students the opportunity to gain international experience within a short period — just five days.

Short-term mobility is particularly suitable for students who wish to broaden their academic and cultural horizons but have limited time. Participation in the programme provides an opportunity to visit a FORTHEM partner university and gain experience in an international study environment.

Applications for FORTHEM short-term mobilities are open until April 12, 2026, by filling out the application form. The results of the selection process will be announced approximately one month after the application deadline.

Students from any University of Latvia bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral study programme can apply for short-term mobilities. When going on mobility to one of the FORTHEM Alliance universities, students receive a scholarship that includes daily allowances (for accommodation and other expenses) and travel cost support according to the Erasmus+ distance calculator. Additional funding is also available for green travel (bus, train, or car-pooling with other participants).

More information about the types of short-term mobilities:

You can learn more about the latest activities, experience stories, and feedback from other mobility participants (postcards from students) on the FORTHEM Alliance Facebook and Instagram accounts.
