The 14th International young scientist conference “DOC 2018” is arriving soon

On behalf of SPIE and OSA student chapters from the University of Latvia we are pleased to invite students and promising young scientists to join us in Riga, Latvia, for the 14th International young scientist conference “Developments in Optics and Communications 2018”!

The conference will be held on April 12 - 13, 2018 in Riga, Latvia, at the University of Latvia Academic Centre for Natural Sciences (Jelgavas Street 1). Here you will have a great opportunity to meet other students and young scientists that work in the research field of optics and photonics, share your ideas and experiences as well as establish contacts for future collaborations. Please note, that the official language of the conference is English. As every year, the conference topics will cover:
  • Biophotonics;
  • Laser Physics and Spectroscopy;
  • Optical Materials and Phenomena;
  • Optics in Communications;
  • Vision Science;
However, this year we would like to introduce another section to expand the variety of topics covered and to offer you even more fascinating talks and posters, so this year you are welcome to submit your work under:
  • Optics and Material Science
Deadlines: Online registration and abstract submission till 4th of February, 2018, 23:59, UTC+2. Participation fee*:
  • Early Bird before December 24, 2017 // 7.00 €
  • after December 24, 2017 // 10.00 €
  • University of Latvia SPIE (UL SPIE) and OSA Student chapter members // 5.00 €
  • Attendance only (no presentation or poster) // free of charge
