For high-level athletes, the possibility to receive sports scholarships at the University of Latvia
The University of Latvia has been supporting high-level athletes for several years, granting sports scholarships to study at the institution of higher education in order to make it possible to achieve success not only in sports, but also in studies.
This year, sports grants in the form of tuition fee relief in any study program will be awarded to about 50 athletes. It is possible to apply for a sports scholarship from the University of Latvia from 1 to 28 July 2024/2025.
UL is calling on young high-profile athletes to take advantage of sports scholarships awarded by UL, which provides opportunities for athletes to get high-quality higher education while continuing their athlete careers. A sports scholarship, as is customary in many European and North American countries, provides coverage for tuition fees if an athlete has shown high achievements in his sport and is also successful at studying at UL at the same time.
javelin thrower Krishian Suntazi says: "sport is only a small part of life, so every athlete needs a good education. If you want to sport professionally, it's often the education that has to be sacrificed for the sake of your athletic career. So UL dual career opportunities are a great way for the eu to bring all its interests and talents together without affecting the quality of their results.”
UL invites you not to give up your dreams in sport or education, but to join one of the leading universities in Latvia and have a dual career!
