LU Sports Day is going to take place on April 18th

On Thursday, April 18th, from 16:00 to 20:30, University of Latvia’s Sports Day will take place at the House of Sciences of the University of Latvia and on the territory of the Academic Centre of the University of Latvia, at 3 Jelgavas Street, organized by Latvian University students in collaboration with the LU Sports Centre and the LU Student Council. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in both team sports and individual disciplines, competing for valuable prizes..

The opening of the event is scheduled for 16:00, when participation in individual disciplines will be open, and tournaments within the event will start from 17:00, so that LU students who do not have lectures at the LU Academic Centre can also participate in the tournaments after their lectures.

From 16:00 to 20:00, each interested individual will have the opportunity to visit karting, inflatable attractions, and strength testing disciplines at their chosen time, as well as participate in various contests, testing their accuracy, speed, and strength. Each participant will spend up to 5 minutes on these disciplines.

From 17:00 to 20:15, tournaments in 4x4 football, 3x3 basketball, 4x4 volleyball, e-sports, table tennis, table hockey, and board games will take place.

The award ceremony will take place at 20:30. The students who achieve the best results in karting, inflatable attractions, and strength testing disciplines will be awarded individually.

Registration for individual disciplines (karting, inflatable attractions, and strength testing disciplines) will be possible at any time during the event, from 16:00 to 20:00, but for other disciplines/tournaments, registration must be done on the day of the event, April 18th, from 16:00 to 16:55 at the specific discipline.

Registration for the 4x4 football, 3x3 basketball, and 4x4 volleyball tournaments is also possible in advance by filling out the electronic application form until April 17th, 23:59. Football, basketball, volleyball, inflatable attractions, and strength testing disciplines will take place on the territory of the LU Academic Centre, near the sports area, while the karting discipline will take place near the main entrance of the LU House of Nature. The board game tournament will take place in Room 105 of the LU House of Science, the e-sports tournament in Room 106 of the LU House of Science, and the table tennis and table hockey tournaments on the 2nd floor of the LU House of Science.
